Meta tags that control how your page looks when shared on social media — title, description, and preview image.
Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image) decide whether a shared link shows a rich, clickable card or an ugly bare URL, which directly affects social click-through. The image is the highest-leverage tag: aim for 1200x630 pixels so it renders sharp without cropping across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack. Twitter/X layers its own twitter:card tags on top, but it falls back to Open Graph, so getting OG right covers most platforms in one pass.
